TATA IPL 2026: SunRisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals, Match 31 - Preview

SunRisers Hyderabad will look to continue their momentum at home as they take on Delhi Capitals next at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday.
We had a huge task cut out heading into this leg with three consecutive home games, and so far, we haven’t put a foot wrong. Two big wins on the trot have put us right back among the best-performing teams this season, and a third win would place us in a commanding position at the halfway mark of the league stage.
In a pulsating contest against Chennai Super Kings, where the match swung like a pendulum, our bowlers held their nerve and produced their best performance of the season so far. With the bat too, we had impressive performances from Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen, who continued their golden run of form.
Abhishek recorded the fastest fifty by an SRH player (15 balls), taking full advantage of the field restrictions early on. He and Travis Head previously held the record, having scored 16-ball fifties on separate occasions during the 2024 season.
Heinrich Klaasen stepped up with a big knock, holding one end firmly to ensure we posted a competitive total. He registered his third fifty of the season, finishing with a vital 59 off 39 balls as we scored 194 runs in 20 overs.
Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the first breakthrough, followed by impressive spells from Sakib Hussain and Shivang Kumar. However, the star of the night was Eshan Malinga, who picked up three crucial wickets and controlled the run flow effectively.
The team combination over the last two matches has struck the right balance, and some stellar all-round displays have taken us over the line. Significant contributions from our top five with the bat have been a pillar of strength, and with the bowlers now stepping up with big performances, the potential of this team has skyrocketed.
SRH have faced Delhi Capitals in 26 matches over the years, winning 13 of them, while DC have won 12. With the Orange Army behind us, we will give it our all to make it three wins on the trot, which would take us into the top four.
