TATA IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders vs SunRisers Hyderabad, Match 6 - Preview

SunRisers Hyderabad will be heading to the Eden Gardens next to face Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday.
The batting department put up a spirited effort in the last match, with skipper Ishan Kishan leading the way. Sticking to the principles of our aggressive approach, Kishan ensured the scorecard kept moving towards a big total.
He formed a big partnership with Heinrich Klaasen, who began his fourth season in Orange with a composed 31 off 22 balls. Kishan completed his half-century and went on to score 80 off just 38 balls. His innings included eight fours and five sixes.
Aniket Verma, who made a mark last year with some impactful knocks in the lower order, returned with a bang in his second season. His 43 off 18 balls propelled us to a 200+ total for the fourth successive innings in the IPL (including the last two matches of IPL 2025).
Jaydev Unadkat got a breakthrough in his first over while defending the total, while debutant David Payne returned with two wickets. Harsh Dubey also picked up one, but it wasn’t meant to be our day.
The team is brimming with confidence, with promising talents eager to prove their credentials. Our star-studded batting line-up registered some big totals last season, including a 278 against Thursday night’s opponents. The team powered its way to a 200+ total despite not getting an ideal start in the opening match, which signifies the firepower in this line-up.
There’s a great blend of experience and exuberance in the bowling attack as well. Nitish Kumar Reddy bowled a couple of good overs with the new ball, providing much-needed all-round balance to the line-up.
Last season, SRH and KKR faced each other twice, with both teams winning one match each. Once again, a cracker of a contest awaits at the Eden Gardens as the Orange Army strives to return to winning ways.
