Dream debuts for Praful and Sakib, backed by Ishan’s fiery knock, seals a memorable win against RR

SunRisers Hyderabad delivered a sensational performance across all verticals against Rajasthan Royals to produce one of our most memorable wins on Monday. With two young sensations stepping up with the ball and a terrific knock earlier from captain Ishan Kishan, we registered a commanding 57-run win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
In the first innings, Ishan Kishan led the charge with a breathtaking counter-attack after RR made a good start. Ishan produced a stunning 91 off just 44 balls - an innings that was well measured at the beginning and swiftly turned into fearless strokeplay. He took the game on with full positivity and shifted all the momentum in our favour.
At the other end, Travis Head provided support in the Powerplay, while Heinrich Klaasen once again showcased his class with a crucial 40 off 26 balls. Building a strong partnership with Kishan, Klaasen ensured we stayed on track through the middle overs. This was Klaasen’s fifth consecutive 30+ score in IPL this season.
The finishing touches came in style as well, and this time, it was the young Indian core that provided us the much-needed fire at the end. Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora struck some big hits with authority, lifting us to an imposing 216/6.
After the break, the opening few overs were nothing short of an extravaganza.
Making his debut, Praful Hinge produced a moment for the history books. In a dream opening over, he picked up three wickets and set the tone for a sensational bowling performance. It was a spell full of pace, precision, and pure impact - one that saw him become the first bowler to pick three wickets in the opening over of an innings in IPL.
Sakib Hussain, the other debutant, matched that intensity in the following over with the wicket of Yashavi Jaiswal and continued to make life difficult for the opponents with his variations.
Praful’s second over saw him pick his fourth wicket, leaving the opponents hanging at 9/5 and pretty much sealing the match in our favour.
Even as resistance built briefly, we stayed patient and struck at the right moments. Eshan Malinga delivered a key breakthrough to shift momentum back our way, before Sakib returned to close things out emphatically.
Sakib Hussain wrapped up the match with exceptional figures of 4/24. Praful Hinge, meanwhile, was named the Player of the Match on debut after his four early wickets turned the game one-sided in our favour.
It was a night where everything clicked for us — fearless batting, historic debut performances, and a relentless bowling effort. A complete team display that showcased the depth, energy, and firepower of this team and the Orange Army cheering for us with the exact intensity made it extra memorable.
Next up, we host Chennai Super Kings on Saturday.
