Bowlers deliver a knockout blow as SunRisers clinch a thrilling win against CSK

SunRisers Hyderabad delivered a complete team performance in Uppal, clinching a thrilling 10-run victory on Saturday.
We couldn’t have asked for a better start with the bat. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head came out firing, putting the pressure right back on the opposition from ball one. The duo put together 75 runs in no time, with Abhishek setting the tone in spectacular fashion.
His explosive 59 off just 22 deliveries was packed with fearless strokeplay and intent, while Head ensured the momentum stayed firmly with us.
In the middle overs, Heinrich Klaasen stepped up once again. Playing with control and authority, Klaasen anchored the innings beautifully with a crucial 59 off 39 balls. He stitched together important partnerships and ensured we kept moving forward. His composure gave us the platform we needed to push towards a strong total.
A late push saw us finish with a competitive 194 on the board.
With the ball, we were sharp from the outset. Nitish Kumar Reddy made an early impact, striking twice and setting the tone for the innings. Despite CSK having the upperhand at the halfway mark in the innings, our bowlers led a staggering comeback, one that will be remembered for a long time.
Eshan Malinga led the charge with a match-winning spell and was well supported by the likes of Shivang Kumar and Sakib Hussain. While Eshan picked up some big wickets, Shivang and Sakib delivered very economical spells and restricted the run flow. Eshan picked up three crucial wickets and his ability to strike at key moments kept us firmly in control of the game.
Wickets at regular intervals ensured the required rate kept climbing, and our bowlers stayed calm in the crucial phases. In the final overs, we executed our plans to perfection - with Praful Hinge delivering a terrific last over to seal the win.
It was a performance full of character that personified our motto to “Play With Fire” and also showed the composed side of this team. We were explosive with the bat, composed when needed, and clinical with the ball.
Another strong outing for us as we continue to build momentum this season, with Eshan Malinga’s impactful spell earning him the Player of the Match honours.
Next up, we face the Delhi Capitals.
