Abhishek leads the charge, Malinga seals the deal - three wins on the bounce for SRH

SunRisers Hyderabad made it three wins on the bounce in the TATA IPL 2026, delivering a commanding all-round performance at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium. A night headlined by brilliance with the bat and backed by clinical execution with the ball saw us march to a dominant 47-run victory.
Batting first, we set the tone early and never let it slip. Travis Head provided a fluent start, ensuring the innings had the perfect platform. From there, it was a masterclass from Abhishek Sharma that left the Uppal crowd chanting and roaring throughout the innings.
The left-hander produced a knock for the ages, remaining unbeaten on a stunning 135 off just 68 deliveries. With supreme control and fearless intent, Abhishek dismantled the bowling attack, peppering the boundary with 10 fours and 10 sixes in a breathtaking display of power and precision.
The momentum never dipped. Captain Ishan Kishan injected further energy with a quickfire 25, keeping the scoring rate soaring. Then came the finishing touches from Heinrich Klaasen, who once again showcased his destructive prowess. His unbeaten 37 off just 13 balls provided the perfect final flourish, as SunRisers Hyderabad powered their way to a massive 242 for 2.
With a towering total on the board, the SunRisers bowlers rose to the occasion and delivered a performance full of control and impact. Dilshan Madushanka struck early to set the tone, while the entire attack maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings.
Leading the charge was Eshan Malinga, who delivered a spell of exceptional quality. Mixing his variations to perfection, he picked up four crucial wickets and ensured there was no way back for the opposition.
While Sakib Hussain continued to impress with his variations, it was Harsh Dubey who provided a brilliant finish with the ball. Dubey returned with three wickets in a brilliant spell that made sure we restricted the batters far away from the target.
Every bowler played their part in a disciplined, collective effort as we sealed comprehensive victory in front of our home fans. Abhishek Sharma’s record-breaking century earned him the Player of the Match, capping off a memorable night for the Orange Army.
Momentum is well and truly on our side as we are halfway through the league stage now, winning four of the seven matches. We now head to Jaipur to face the Rajasthan Royals.
